Ryusei couldn't help but constantly keep his eye on a certain teacher that constantly showed up at the coffee shop he worked at.
It was hard not to start recognising him quickly, given that not only he started showing up every day, he was also kind of loud whenever he talked to anyone. His pompandour and the way he was always greeting anyone that crossed him as if they were already his friend certainly didn't help in making him less noticeable.
Ryusei took a while to find out he was a teacher at all, only figuring that out when he had run into a high schooler who called him "Mr. Kisaragi". At first, he was shocked that someone who acted like him was a teacher, but at least his students seemed to like him.
Of course, Kisaragi was far from the only daily regular at the coffee shop. And also not the only one who was pretty noticeable. But there was something about him that just made him stay in Ryusei's mind a lot.
He was the only customer who Ryusei paid that much attention to. He had started to memorise even some of the people who he would sometimes bring with him on afternoons (a time when he didn't show up very often): a specific small group of students who all seemed to be in the club he was the advisor of; another teacher who, from their conversations, apparently had been his teacher; and on occasion, a guy who looked quite intelligent and also constantly tired of Kisaragi's antics.
Ryusei was quite surprised, hoping the way his cheeks burned didn't mean they were visibly red, when Kisaragi talked to him one day after receiving his order. His usual customer service smile had completely disappeared from the shock.
"Thanks, Ryusei! Always happy to see you here!"
Ryusei was confused on how Kisaragi even knew his name, before remembering he did always have a name tag. He quickly put his fake customer service smile back on before replying. "T-thanks. Have a nice day!"
Although, this time, the smile wasn't completely fake. He toned it down once Kisaragi turned his back, but he did give him a genuine smile as he left.
Secretly, he looked forward to seeing Kisaragi every morning. Although, he wouldn't admit it out loud. Not even if Miu were to pester him about it once her shift started.
