"You can hit me if you want. I won't be angry at you."
Kengo had looked surprised to hear him say that. But Ryusei guessed he was considering it. It was just them in the clubroom, so it wasn't like anyone else would see.
He had noticed Kengo wasn't acting the same around him, ever since... Everything at Subaruboshi.
He didn't blame Kengo for feeling like that, though. He had all the right to be upset. Specially since Ryusei could tell he felt the same way he did about Gentaro.
However, he had realized he liked Kengo just as much.
It all just made him feel worse. He already felt guilty enough being the one who killed Gentaro, but seeing Kengo so upset at him just made him feel even more like a monster. One who didn't deserve the kind 'welcome back' Gentaro and the other club members had given him.
After a moment of silence, Kengo slapped him.
It felt... Relieving. Like the tension was gone.
"Was that too hard?" Kengo asked, hand hesitating to touch his cheek.
"It's fine, I deserved that." Ryusei smiled, rubbing his cheek.
He could tell Kengo blushed as he pulled his hand back.
