Furanui remained as still as he could under the bookshelf of the Student Council room. He didn't make a single noise either, even trying to breathe as quietly as possible. Maybe that way Maasa wouldn't find him…

"There you are!" Maasa smiled as he saw him.

"Crap!" Furanui immediately ran away before Maasa could even touch him.

"Oh, c'mon! You're no fun!" Maasa pouted, playing with the purple bow he had been holding. "It's just a bow! You can't be the only one not wearing anything special on Halloween!"

"It's not even the 15th yet!"

"The whole school is already getting decorated! It's about time you start thinking about what you're gonna wear."

"I'm not gonna wear anything!" Furanui jumped on the window. "And you're not gonna convince me!" He jumped outside, falling onto some bushes that cushioned his fall.

He just walked around for a while, not really having any real destination in mind. This surely wasn't how he expected their visit to Earth to turn out. He eventually settled for laying down at the shade of a tree, taking a deep breath as he felt grateful for finally having some peace and quiet.

"Furanui!" He heard Karurusu's voice.

Furanui sighed. Of course that wouldn't last.

"I've been looking all over for you!" Karurusu approached him, pulling a cardboard box along with him.

"What do you want this time?"

"Halloween is coming up! Don't you know about this human holiday?" He began pulling many things out of the box, all parts of different costumes, including angel wings, demon horns, fake fangs.

"Of course I know." Karurusu threw a black cape at him, and he yelled at him. "I'm not putting on a costume!"

Karurusu frowned. "Why not? The spirits are gonna get you!"

"Even if that was true, we can easily get rid of those ourselves."

"What do you mean? The spirits aren't real?"

Furanui rolled his eyes. He shouldn't be surprised he believed that.

"Either way, wouldn't it be fun to have matching costumes? We've never done anything like that before!"

Furanui didn't reply. It was true he still wasn't used to doing "brotherly" things with him. And as much as he hated the idea of dressing up in a costume… Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he was doing it with him.

He sighed, but approached the cardboard box. "What do you have there?"

Karurusu's eyes had practically sparkled as he smiled. "There's a bunch of stuff! That one might look good on you!"

He threw the black cape on him again, covering his entire head. However, he just shook it off afterwards and tried putting it on (despite his lack of thumbs making it a little hard). He moved around a bit. It was good enough for him.

"It fits you!" Karurusu smiled again. "What kind of creature could you be? A vampire? A demon? Jack-o-pumpkin? Hm… Maybe a wizard?"

"You said you wanted to match with me, right?"

"Oh! Let me see…" He looked through the box once again.

Furanui lost track of just how long they spent just trying out costumes. But he wasn't annoyed. On the contrary. There were many times where he couldn't help but laugh with him, and he could bet that was the most fun they had together in years .

Both of them had ended up with black capes and wizard hats. Karurusu's hat would often slip and cover his eyes by accident, but he would still laugh every time.

"We've gotta show everyone! C'mon!" He meant to run towards the school, but Furanui held his cape to stop him.

"I assume you should get that," he gestured towards the cardboard box, "back where it came from."

"Oh, you're right." Karurusu began pushing the box again. "Ryoma will get upset at me if I just leave it lying around."

Furanui watched as he pushed the box around, puzzled. It wasn't heavy, and he wasn't struggling that much, but it would still take way too long if he kept going like that…

Furanui changed into his human form, even his cape and hat transforming to fit him. He picked up the box. "Isn't it easier like this?"

Karurusu paused for a second, before laughing. "Oh, you're right! I should've thought about that!"

Furanui sighed, but still smiled. Karurusu hadn't changed a bit, but he didn't exactly hate that. He couldn't see himself enjoying Halloween at all without him.
