Inspiration wasn't usually something Crow struggled with. Usually, it was no problem making up a new song when he needed to. Even if it would need tweaking later, getting a first draft done wasn't hard most of the time.
But this time, he had been completely slumped on the lyrics. Everytime he had an idea and wrote it down, he would scrap it immediately. Nothing he thought of was feeling quite right...
A sudden blackout at Angelica's bar had been what led to that slump's ending.
He and Cyan had been the only people left there, both still halfway through their drinks, Crow with his notebook still trying to figure out his lyrics. The storm outside made the power go out, suddenly leaving them in darkness.
Angelica had managed to find a candle, but only one. So Cyan had to come over to sit at his table to make use of the candle's light.
Crow had already had a crush on Cyan for a while. Just seeing her would make his heart jump. She was always cute but, seeing her in the candlelight made her look a different kind of cute.
It made him a bit gloomy. Knowing that he had these feelings for her, and yet being unable to get the courage to tell her. Out of fear that she would reject him, or that things just wouldn't work out between them...
He stared at his blank notebook pages again, and suddenly thought... Maybe he could at least put those feelings to good use?
He started writing, without thinking much at first. Just trying to get his feelings out on paper, adding some notes for future reference in a few places as he went along. But he pretty quickly found he was liking how it was turning out.
"Did you get a good a idea?" Cyan suddenly asked.
Crow almost jumped. Thankfully, it seemed she had only seem him smiling a lot. She hadn't tried to read what he was writing.
He tried to fake his usual confidence. "Y-yeah! Of course I was bound to come up with something genius sooner rather than later."
Cyan giggled. That giggle of hers that always made Crow want to scream. "I'm looking forward to hearing it once it's done!"
"I won't disappoint!" He smiled.
He just hoped she wouldn't be able to tell what the song was about. At least, not yet...
