The Halloween party that the Defense Club and the Student Council had together on the night of the 31st had ended pretty late. Because of that, Ata was still tired when he woke up the next morning.
Despite how he intended to get off the bed anyway, it didn't seem like Kyotaro wanted to let him leave. He had insisted that he wanted to spend the night with Ata, now holding onto him in his sleep. And he didn't seem like he would let go anytime soon.
Ata didn't make any effort to push him away. Even if he would be too embarrassed to say it out loud, he admitted that he enjoyed it. He liked having Kyotaro close to him. He liked to hear his breathing so clearly. He liked his warmth…
Kyotaro opened his eyes slowly, Ata's face heating up when he realised he had been staring at him for quite a while.
"Morning." Kyotaro smiled at him.
"G-good morning."
Kyotaro yawned, closing his eyes again and nuzzling Ata's chest.
"Don't just fall back asleep!"
Kyotaro just groaned.
Ata sighed. "C'mon, get up. Let's get breakfast." He pushed him away, sitting up.
Kyotaro groaned once more, still laying down on the bed. Once he started crawling to the edge of the bed, Ata thought he would get up. However, what he did was pick his bag from the floor. He opened his bag, pulling a plastic bag out of it. Ata remembered that bag…
"We've still got a lot of candy from yesterday." Kyotaro said.
"You can't just eat candy as a replacement for breakfast!"
"Just one day won't kill us." Kyotaro got a chocolate from the bag and ate it. "C'mon, they're good."
Kyotaro smiled at him. Ata mentally cursed him for it. Did he know just how easy it was to convince him when he did that? Either way, it always managed to make his face burn, even if just slightly.
He still shifted closer to Kyotaro, facing him. Kyotaro pulled another chocolate from the bag. Ata intended to grab it in his own hand, but then Kyotaro spoke.
"Open up."
Ata's face burned completely, and he choked on nothing. It wasn't the first time Kyotaro had suggested something like this during their relationship, but he was always so sudden about it. Always doing things as if they weren't that big of a deal…
"It's gonna melt." Kyotaro warned.
Ata saw that he was right. Some of the chocolate was already sticking to Kyotaro's fingers. He took a second to recompose himself before opening his mouth with an embarrassed "Aaah."
Kyotaro put the chocolate in his mouth. Ata managed to push through his embarrassment and licked the melted chocolate from Kyotaro's fingers. Kyotaro chuckled at him, making Ata's body feel even warmer.
Ata managed to open his eyes again, seeing Kyotaro eat another candy by himself. But Ata wasn't gonna let him get away with that.
He grabbed a candy from the bag himself, holding it in front of Kyotaro. He didn't speak, but opened his mouth before Ata could even ask him to.
Kyotaro ate the candy and smiled at him. Then he started moving closer, his face soon being just inches away from Ata's.
Before Ata could even realise, he kissed him. It took him by surprise for a moment, making him freeze. But he managed to take a deep breath, close his eyes and kiss back.
He finally managed to properly appreciate the moment. Kyotaro's affection was always so sudden that, sometimes, he didn't know how to react. But he still didn't hate it. No. He was still sure he loved Kyotaro. He loved his kisses. He loved it whenever he held his hand.
Kyotaro pulled away from him, smiling. Ata smiled back this time, the embarrassment subsiding with time.
Maybe spending mornings like that wasn't so bad. Maybe he should let Kyotaro sleep there more often.
