Karurusu had missed many things about Honyalaland during his time on Earth. And one of the things he had missed the most was definitely the night sky. He couldn't help but smile as he looked up at it, standing on the balcony of his bedroom and leaning his chin in his hands.
Earth's night sky didn't seem to have as many stars. From what he had been told, one could see more of them in more rural areas. But pictures from those places' sky still never seemed as pretty as Honyalaland's. Earth's stars seemed to mostly all be just white, too. Unlike the many different colors of stars he was used to.
"You seem happy." Furanui's voice came from behind him.
Karurusu giggled. "Of course I am. I missed this view a lot."
Furanui came to stand beside him, leaning his arms on the balcony's railing. "Is that why you named your knights after stars?"
Karurusu looked up again as he thought. "Maybe? I didn't really give it that much thought. Stars were just the first thing that popped into my head." He giggled again, his eyes landing on Fiore, the brightest red star in the sky. "I guess not even I realized how much I like them."
Furanui chuckled, but didn't say anything else.
Karurusu then had a thought that made him curious. He turned his full attention to Furanui as he talked. "Then, did you name your knights after jewels because you like jewels?"
"I do like jewels. But I wouldn't say that's why I named them like that." Furanui looked up thoughtfully. "It's more that jewels are elegant and resistant. I just thought it was fitting for a group of knights."
"I guess I understand…" Karurusu thought out loud. He scooted a bit closer to Furanui, their shoulders touching. "What is your favorite thing, then?"
Furanui chuckled. "Well…" He cupped one of Karurusu's cheeks, a gentle look in his eyes as he spoke. "Perhaps the brightest star of all right in front of me."
Karurusu's cheeks heated up and his heart beated faster. He couldn't help but squeal as he threw himself at Furanui to hug him. "That's so sweet, Furanui!" He kissed Furanui's cheek, squishing his face in the process.
Furanui laughed as he hugged him back. He then gave Karurusu a gentle kiss on the lips. Even such a simple thing took Karurusu's breath away…
He giggled after their lips parted, leaning his forehead on Furanui's. "I think I like this pretty jewel in front of me much more than I like stars."
