Sunflowers

"What are these?" Chase asked, picking up a small, transparent packet of seeds that was on Shinnosuke's desk.

"Oh, those are seeds. You put them in the ground and a plant will grow out." Shinnosuke explained, smiling.

Chase tilted his head at him. "I know what seeds are. I am asking what type of plant they are."

"Oh..." Shinnosuke scratched the back of his head, blushing. Just because Chase was a robot who didn't know much about humans, that didn't mean he wouldn't know about nature. "They're sunflowers. Rinna's birthday is coming up and I remembered her mentioning she wanted to grow them. The store even had some pamphlets with guides on how to grow them." He pointed towards the desk.

Chase picked up the pamphlet, quickly looking it over. It had all the important information, such as how deep to plant the seeds and how often to water them.

"Why does she want sunflowers?" Chase asked.

Shinnosuke shrugged. "You'll have to ask her."

Chase accepted that answer and didn't ask anything else, but Shinnosuke saw how he kept looking at the seeds, as if they would give him an explanation.

Humans really were still hard for him to understand.
