Cute

Ryuu wouldn't really say he had a sweet tooth, but he did still enjoy sweets from time to time. So, when he had heard that the new crepe shop near the station was actually really good, he was immediately interested.

However, he didn't exactly like the idea of going alone. Going to a place like that without bringing anyone along just sounded too lonely for him. Fortunately, he knew exactly who to bring along.

It had been a while since he and Io had hung out after school. Io had gotten pretty busy, after all. But Ryuu was already starting to miss the alone time they would have together.

The other Defense Club members had left the school a little earlier than normal, leaving him and Io alone for a few minutes. They had talked for a while, making Ryuu lose himself in the conversation, losing track of time.

"I should probably get going." Io grabbed his bag and stood up. "See you tomorrow."

"Actually," Ryuu interrupted him before he could even take a step. "Are you free today?"

"Hm… I am a little less busy than usual."

"Wanna go out, then? It's been a while. There's this crepe shop by the station I wanted to try out."

Io thought for a moment. "Isn't that somewhere you'd usually take a girl to?"

"But I wanna go with you. It would make me really happy, y'know?"

Io was silent for a moment, but then smiled. "Fine, then. When you’re happy, I’m happy.”

"Great! Then let's get-" Ryuu had gotten off his seat, but then stopped when he finally processed what Io had said. It had been… Oddly cute of him to say that. His cheeks warmed up. "W-what did you just say?"

Io chuckled. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Who are you and what did you do to Io? He never says cute stuff like that!"

"Cute?" Io was clearly holding back a laugh, and Ryuu's blood boiled. "We should get going before the shop closes, shouldn't we? You were the one who wanted to go."

"Don't change the subject!" Ryuu soon realised his protests were useless. Io was ignoring him completely as he left the clubroom. Why would he say something like that? He groaned, but gave up.

But, if Io did ever say something like that again, he wouldn't let him get away so easily. And… Ryuu had to admit that he was kinda happy to know Io cared that much for him.
