There were days when Kinshiro just didn’t wake up in the best mood. En could tell when it was one of those days just by the look on his face. And even his reaction to everything. The cause of it was usually not sleeping so well the previous night. Or even not managing to sleep at all.

But En knew how to make those days better. Usually, just trying to do little things to improve his mood would help. It wasn’t always enough to make the crankiness go away completely, but it still made him a little more relaxed.

The thing is, Kinshiro could be quite picky with what they could try. And En only had so many options. They had been going back and forth for quite a while at their dining table.

“Do you want a massage or something?” En asked.

“I’m not really in the mood for that right now.” Kinshiro replied.

“Some tea, then?”

“You don’t even know how to make it.”

“You could teach me. That would work as a distraction.”

Kinshiro sighed. “I don’t think I’m gonna have the patience for something like that today.”

“Well, is there anything you would like to eat?”

“Not hungry either.”

En was the one who sighed this time. “You sure are picky today, huh?”

“Well what did you expect!?”

“Hey, chill out, Prez.”

“And don’t call me that! We aren’t in school anymore!”

En frowned for a moment before smirking. He didn’t usually resort to this sort of thing, but it was a last resort…

“Why are you smiling all of a sudden?”

“Nothing. I just figured out a way to finally get you smiling.”

“Smiling is not necessarily a requirement for cheering u-” Kinshiro finally looked up at En again and saw that he was holding his hands up like claws. He immediately stood up and stepped back. “Oh, no! Anything but that!”

“You better run, then. I know where you’re the most ticklish.”

Kinshiro didn’t wait a second before running away towards the living room, immediately grabbing a pillow from the couch and throwing it as soon as he saw En.

En caught it perfectly, then just tossed it aside. “Hey! You’re the one always telling me not to throw stuff around!”

“Shut up!” Kinshiro threw another pillow at him, this one hitting En right on his face.

He didn’t really manage to stall En for too long, though. There were eventually no pillows left on the couch. And before he could start running away again, En took one of the pillows off the floor and threw it at his leg in such a way that he fell back onto the couch.

En didn’t lose anytime at all and immediately rushed towards him, tickling the sides of his stomach.

Kinshiro immediately started laughing and curling up. En wasn’t lying when he said he knew where he was more ticklish. Perhaps he was a little too good at that for Kinshiro’s good. And hearing him laugh, En couldn’t help but laugh along.

But, eventually, Kinshiro managed to move enough to grab the pillow off the ground and throw it at En. “Stop it already, Yufuin!”

En held onto the pillow and pouted. “Aw, it’s ‘Yufuin’ again? What happened with ‘En-chan’? ‘Honey’? ‘Darling’?”

Kinshiro was starting to blush. He crossed his arms. “Shut up or else I swear I’ll call you ‘Yufuin’ for a whole week since you hate it so much!”

“Not even ‘my dear husband’?”

Kinshiro just groaned and covered his now completely red face. En couldn’t help but laugh at how easily embarrassed he was despite them being married for about 5 years already.

But, when he was in that state, it was hard for him to be actually angry for too long.
